Community involvement is very important to Wooten. A long time supporter of the Community in Schools Gala event, Hope Harbour, New Hope Clinic, a former member of the Southport Junior Women's Club, and a panel judge for the Sallie Southall Scholarship. A fan of all things North Carolina, Wooten was the reigning Apple Peelin' Queen of Mount Airy 2006 – 2008. In August of 2010, Wooten performed the International Rhumba in the "Dancing with the Stars – Brunswick County", a local fund raiser for Brunswick Community College.
