Originally from Richmond, VA, my interest in the coast started in my teenage years. Being close to the coast I was able to make many trips to VA Beach and even Nags Head over the weekends. Once married and with children, our vacations ended up along the coasts from Virginia to Florida. At some point my wife's and my careers allowed for relocation and we started researching the coast for a home, instead of just a vacation. It was through that research that we decided on the Southport/Oak Island area of NC. Not so commercial as many of the areas we used to vacation, we have a mild climate, reasonable taxes, natural beauty and convenience to the larger metro areas of Wilmington, NC and Myrtle Beach, SC. I moved into Real Estate in 2008 and, like most agents, pursued listings and listing appointments to get a presence in the market. I soon realized my focus was helping buyers be comfortable with a commitment here, be it for retirement, relocation or investment. That focus on buyers and their needs is still with me.
