Dana King was born and raised in Columbus County, North Carolina, and spent her summers along the Brunswick and New Hanover beaches. Her husband Sam Gray fell in love with North Carolina while hiking the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine in 1996. The couple has worked with each other throughout their sixteen years together, most notably as renewable fuels consultants over the past decade. They made the move to Southport in 2009 with their growing family and have established deep roots ever since. When not working or chasing their three girls around the family farm, Dana and Sam might be found taking in a sunset on the Cape Fear and giving thanks for the many blessings enjoyed by those that call this Carolina coast home.
