Rebecca and her husband Pat vacationed with their children on the Carolina coast for years before buying a home in St. James, NC, three years ago. They chose St. James because of the plantation’s beauty and amenities, the temperate climate of the area, and, of course, the ocean. They also chose it because it’s an easy day’s drive to their family in northern Virginia.

Rebecca worked in education for nineteen years, and for nine years of that was an elementary school principal. During her tenure with a private Catholic school in Virginia, it was named a National Blue Ribbon School in 2013, one of only fifty private schools in the U.S. to receive the award that year.

She also spent ten years in the insurance industry. When the independent agency employing her merged with BB&T Bank, she moved from selling insurance products to a business relations team whose goal was to train employees and standardize procedures in each BB&T agency along the eastern seaboard and in West Virginia, Tennessee and Kentucky.

Rebecca holds a bachelor’s degree in public relations journalism from the University of Kansas, as well as an M.Ed. in social foundations from the University of Virginia, and an M.Ed. in administration and supervision from Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia.

She has always had an interest in real estate, consistently keeping an eye on the markets where she and her husband have lived, and as soon as they were settled in St. James, sought out an agency to fulfill a long time goal of becoming a real estate agent. Now she’s anxious to share her knowledge of this area, a gem of the South, with others ready to leave the North Country behind.
